Space Store Opens its Doors in Oxford — Bringing Space to the High Street with Immersive ‘Mission to the Moon’ Experience

Oxford's Covered Market welcomes the UK's first immersive space retail destination.

Space Store is thrilled to announce the grand opening of its flagship store at 118 Covered Market, Oxford (OX1 3DZ), marking a landmark moment in making space exploration accessible, exciting, and tangible for everyone.

Alongside the store’s launch, Space Store is debuting another immersive experience: Mission to the Moon — an escape-room-inspired lunar adventure combining virtual reality, replica space suits, and a mystery artefact discovery.

A New Kind of Space Experience on the High Street

Space Store Oxford is on a mission to bring the wonder of space directly to the public. Nestled in the heart of one of Britain’s most iconic markets, the store represents a bold new vision: a place where curiosity meets cutting-edge technology, and where visitors of all ages can step into the shoes of an astronaut.

“We believe space should be for everyone,” said Laksh Sethi, Head of Operations at Space Store. “Opening in Oxford, a city which is synonymous with discovery and innovation, it feels like the perfect launchpad for what we’re building! Our Mission to the Moon experience is just the beginning.”

Mission to the Moon — The Experience

Space Store’s flagship immersive experience invites visitors to suit up and embark on a lunar adventure unlike any other. Recommended for groups of 2–4 and suitable for ages 8 and up, Mission to the Moon includes:
