Introducing Space Store Live — Our New Online Space Community

Born out of lockdown, Space Store Live is a new YouTube community bringing space to everyone's sofa - featuring industry interviews, expert news roundups, kids' activities, and astronaut specials to keep curiosity about the cosmos alive from anywhere in the world.

Well, 2020 hasn’t exactly gone to plan for any of us. With lockdown closing doors, cancelling events, and keeping us all at home, we found ourselves asking a question: how do we keep people connected to space when the world has pressed pause?

The answer was Space Store Live.

We’ve just launched our brand new YouTube channel – and we’re incredibly excited about it. Think of it as a virtual space community; somewhere you can tune in, geek out, and feel part of something bigger, even from your sofa.

Here’s what we’ve got lined up:

Space Talks is our regular interview show, where we sit down with professionals from across the space industry – including engineers, scientists, entrepreneurs, and explorers for honest, in-depth conversations about their careers, their work, and what the future of space looks like. Whether you’re just curious or seriously considering a career in the sector, these are the conversations we think everyone should be hearing.

Space Roundup is perhaps our most-loved regular show already. Every other week, astronomers and space experts Nick Howes and Terry Moseley join us to run through the latest and greatest news from across the universe. From Mars rovers to mysterious exoplanets, from rocket launches to what’s happening right above your head tonight! Nick and Terry bring it all to life with the kind of warmth and expertise that reminds you why space is so endlessly fascinating. It’s part news show, part stargazing companion, and completely unmissable.

And for the Kids – KidsAM is our DIY corner for younger space explorers. Each episode features fun, hands-on space activities that kids can do at home with everyday materials – no specialist kit required. Whether it’s building a model rocket, exploring the phases of the moon, or learning about gravity through simple experiments, KidsAM is designed to spark curiosity and keep young minds engaged with space in a way that’s creative, accessible, and genuinely fun. Perfect for parents who’ve run out of lockdown activity ideas and want something a bit more inspiring than a worksheet.

We also have Meet An Astronaut specials in the works — because who doesn’t want to hear directly from people who’ve actually left the planet?

And there’s more to come. Accessing Space is our ongoing series exploring how space really is for everyone — regardless of background, age, or expertise. Because that’s what Space Store has always been about.

None of this was the plan we had for 2020. But in a strange way, being forced online has given us the chance to build something we’re genuinely proud of – a community for anyone who’s ever looked up at the night sky and felt that pull.

So come and join us. Subscribe to Space Store Live on YouTube, tune in live, ask questions, and be part of the conversation. The universe hasn’t stopped being extraordinary just because the world got a little strange.

See you out there. 🚀👉 youtube.com/spacestorelive
